Pocket Somm is a private training app for the staff of our restaurants. It is not open to the public: an account can only be created with an invite code issued by a manager. This policy explains what the app stores, why, and how to have it removed.
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Email address | Signing in and resetting your password. |
| First name | Shown on the team leaderboard. |
| Your restaurant and role | Showing the right wine list and manager tools. |
| Flashcard progress and quiz results | Tracking what you've learned and what needs review. |
| Notification token | Sending training reminders — only if you allow notifications. |
Your training data is used for one purpose: helping you learn the wine list and letting your managers see how the team is progressing. Managers can see your first name, your quiz scores, and which wines you're finding difficult. They cannot see your password.
We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it to build profiles for any purpose beyond training.
We use a small number of service providers to run the app. They process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
Your account and training history are kept while you work with us. When you leave, or whenever you ask, we delete them.
Pocket Somm is for restaurant employees and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
If this policy changes in a way that affects you, we'll update the date at the top and let you know in the app.
